Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation
Annual Report 2019-2020
According to the guidelines stipulated by the Department of Finance, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) is required to produce an Annual Report each year. The Report is a compilation of inputs from teams across CSC and must come together to form one cohesive and accurate document.
The Annual Report was required in a variety of formats:
- Print-ready PDF
- Accessible PDF
- HTML upload to the Government’s Transparency Portal
The final document totalled over 300 pages.

- Matthew Brace – Senior Editor
- Bronwyn Shin – Senior Graphic Designer
contentgroup’s Senior Editor and Senior Designer led the development of the Annual Report over the course of six months.
The first step was to compile the Annual Report, acting as a central point for numerous departments (14 managers and a further 5 assistants) across CSC to submit draft text for their particular sections and ensuring all copy was provided in full and on deadline.
Next, the copy needed to be properly structured and edited to create a cohesive document. Sections needed to complement each other, be consistent and factually accurate, clear and easy to understand, avoid contradiction, limit repetition and match the Australian Government Style Guide and CSC’s tone of voice. An index was also created to assist readers with navigation.
Once the copy was collated, edited and signed off, we began the graphic design process, creating a cover page, graphic elements and layouts that adhered to the client’s visual identity and ensuring the document was clear and easy to digest.
The final step in the process was the creation of the different versions of the report. To comply with accessibility requirements, we created a fully accessible PDF version of the report and then uploaded the final report to the Government’s Transparency Portal via an HTML tool.
